May 14-20, 2006 is National Women's Health Week Celebration
Health care for women includes the entire spectrum of a woman's life, not just pregnancy and childbirth. Throughout her life, a woman's body is changing and developing. At each stage of her life, there are important preventive health care steps to follow in order to provide early detection of medical problems, or to prevent them entirely.
Get Involved
Kick off the week by participating in the nation's largest preventive care check-up event! National Women's Check-Up Day is on Monday, May 15, 2006. Community health centers, hospitals, and other health care providers across America will participate in this event by offering preventive health screenings to women.
The Department of Health and Human Services has a directory to help you find Women's Health Week events in your area.
