The UC Barrett Cancer Center at University Hospital

Did you know that Ohio is also ranked in the top 25 percent of states for cancer deaths? According to the American Cancer Society, approximately 4.5 million Ohioans are currently living with cancer. In order to aid those suffering from cancer who live in the Cincinnati area, the University of Cincinnati (UC) established the UC Barrett Cancer Center at University Hospital.

The UC Barrett Cancer Center currently serves approximately 35,000 patients with a known cancer diagnosis. By utilizing a diverse group of scientists and physicians affiliated with the UC, the Barrett Cancer Center can provide a cancer program that is both research-based and patient-friendly. The UC Barrett Cancer Center is affiliated with many well-known cancer research organizations, such as Association for Cancer Institutes and the Ohio Partnership for Cancer Control.

Along with treating patients at the UC Barrett Cancer Center, many physicians have established community outreach programs, which have made quite an impact. Programs such as the Mobile Prostate Cancer Screening Program and the "Win by Quitting" smoking-cessation program have helped many in the Cincinnati community.
