Urinary Tract Cancers Overview

The urological system consists of two kidneys, two ureters, the urethra, the sphincter, the genitals, and - in men - the prostate. The following are the most common cancers to affect this part of the body:

Bladder Cancer - Mostly affects the elderly, and smokers. The disease is more common to men, but more women are developing bladder cancer as a result of increased smoking rates.
Kidney Cancer - Affects both men and women. Age and smoking are risk factors.
Prostate Cancer - Though this is the second leading cause of cancer deaths, patients with prostate cancer can be cured when diagnosed early.
Testicular Cancer - This disease is more prevalent in younger men - particularly those between the ages of 20 and 34. It is highly treatable if caught early.
