Radiation from a Patient Undergoing Radiation Therapy

Question:

Does radiation treatment for prostate cancer induce any radioactivity in the patient? Is it safe to be near a person who is having radiation therapy (after treatment)?

Answer:

Radiation therapy does not make a person radioactive and thus they are not a risk factor to anyone else, period.
