Infertility |
Pain Killers and Sperm05/17/2010 |
My wife and I have been trying to have a baby for almost a year now with no luck. I have a presctiption of hydrocodone for a rotator cuff injury that I have been taking. I also recently had wisdom tooth surgery and had a prescription of oxycodone and hydrocodone. Do these type of prescription drugs affect my fertility? And if so, are the effects reversible and if so how long does it take for the sperm to return to normal? Thank you.
Narcotics are not known to decease fertility. However, long-term use of these medications is not safe. You and your wife should see a fertility specialist to look for other causes of decreased fertility.
